Our Purpose

PAND was formed in 1964 by a group of concerned individuals who shared the conviction that nuclear war is the most serious threat to our survival.

PAND Cleveland's goal is to heighten public awareness of the continuing need for the reduction and eventual elimination of nuclear armaments among all countries, and of the dangers presented by the production of nuclear power. In support of the cause of peace and environmental preservation, PAND Cleveland raises money by presenting concerts and other artistic productions. The monies raised in this way support the efforts of PAND Cleveland and other organizations committed to these goals.

Our willingness to devote our time, talents and reputations to achieve these goals springs from our belief that art can contribute not only to esthetics but also to ethics; not only to beauty but also to peace.
